The NIU is the number that identifies you as a member of the UAB community. It is a 7-figure number assigned to you when you join the university, on registration as a student, or when you sign a work contract, etc. If you don’t know your NIU, consult your UAB card.

Data protection clause

In accordance with the provisions of article 13 of Regulations (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR), we would like to inform you that your personal data included in this form will be processed by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), as the controller, to the purpose of managing the changes of your credentials to gain access to corporate services.

The lawfulness of processing your personal data is for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the UAB (art. 6.1.f GDPR), regarding the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller (art. 6.1.e GDPR).

The requested personal data are appropriate and not excessive regarding de purposes of the processing.

The UAB will not release your data to third parties or any other addressee, except in cases which are legally contemplated or when they are for performance of duty, and neither will your data be the object of international transfer.

Your data will be conserved during the time necessary for the purpose of its processing, regardless of the exercise of the rights of the data subjects.

If you have any circumstance connected with a particular situation, you can exercise your right to object before the controller (gerencia@uab.cat), or the Secretaria General of UAB, campus of Bellaterra, Rectorat Building, Academic Square, 08193, Bellaterra (Cerdanyola del Vallès) (sec.general@uab.cat), attaching your ID Card or any other document identifying yourself.

You may also present a claim before the Catalan Data Protection Authority (http://apdcat.gencat.cat/ca/inici/) and make any enquiries you deem necessary to the Data Protection Officer of the UAB (proteccio.dades@uab.cat).
